Newark Lodge is the only guest house in Newark with Five Stars and a Gold Award from the English Tourist Board. Owners Sheila and Mike offer the highest standards, with kingsize beds and all rooms ensuite, plus hospitality tray, trouser press, the latest Digital Freeview TV’s with DVD player and remote control, hairdryer and of course free Wireless Broadband. Breakfast is served in the splendour of the dining room overlooking the drawing room with the inglenook fireplace.

Start your breakfast with fresh pink grapefruit or a choice of 9 cereals and don’t forget the fresh orange juice. Followed by the classical English breakfast cooked to perfection with local bacon and free range eggs. Or maybe try our Eggs Royale, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.

The vegetarian option is just as tasty, especially as Sheila is a vegetarian, but Mike does all the cooking as he is a chef by trade and an hotelier by profession. Sheila’s bedrooms are beautifully appointed and are spotlessly clean with the quality of furniture you would find in a palace. Newark Lodge Guest House has ample off-street parking.

Bedrooms

Each bedroom has its own character. We can truly say our accommodation in Newark is the best! All our bedrooms are on the first floor and are accessed by stairs. All bedrooms are ensuite, 2 double rooms and 2 singles.

Our prize double bedroom has a kingsize sleighbed with a rolltop bath and double shower ensuite. ALL bedrooms have a hospitality tray with a good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits etc, trouser press, hairdryer, and of course FREE wireless Broadband, the latest Digital Freeview TV’s with DVD player and remote control .

In all the rooms you will find a very high quality of toiletries including shower cap, nail files, sewing kit, everything you could possibly need, and if there is anything else you need just ask – we are here to look after you here at Newark Lodge accommodation

Breakfast

Vegetarians be assured, Mike is married to a vegetarian so you will have something interesting. All this is accompanied with fresh ground coffee served in a cafetières or a vast selection of teas, including herbal and caffeine- free.

Breakfasts are served from 7.00-8.30am during the week and 7.00-9.00am at weekends or public holidays. Not to worry, there is nobody standing at the bottom of the stairs with a stop-watch!!! Or by prior arrangement. Oh yes – all our breakfasts are calorie-free and come with a five-year warranty!!!

EVENING MEALS are served across the road at Chesters Pub, where you mention to Jackie, the manager, that you are staying at Newark Lodge B & B and she will look after you like royalty and give you a discount on the food.
