Children with a passion for music or art can take part in special sessions designed to engage young people during the summer holidays.
The Graffiti Art and Music Studio will be held at Bowbridge Primary School in Newark on August 9th and 10th from 9.30am to 4pm.
The sessions are being provided by Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Sports Development Team to offer activities that they may have not have tried before, and for those who have a passion for music or art.
The council’s Inclusion Activity Officer, Liz Robertson, said participants will be able to create their own graffiti style picture to be able to take home with them at the end of the sessions. They will also be able to learn how to record and produce their favourite songs.
Sessions are split into three groups – children aged 5-8 years, who will have a session running on Thursday 9th August between 9.30am and 12.30pm; children ages 9-12 years who will have a session running on Thursday 9th August between 1pm and 4pm, and children aged 13-16 years who will have a session running on Friday 10th August between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
The cost for the sessions will be 50 pence but places must be booked in advance due to limited places.
